Welcome to Owls Class

Class Teacher - Mrs Dearnley

ETA -  Mrs Fisher

As we are the oldest children in the school, our aim is to to be excellent role models for the other children in the school and show positive behaviour and attitudes in everything we do. We should always strive to  be good citizens through our manners and enthusiasm for learning and improving.

This term's topic is all about 'Ancient Greece'. We are all excited as we are hoping to join with Woodpeckers for a full day of fun, food and games. We will bring Modern and Ancient Olympics together!

The topic letter will be added at a later date, which will show a provisional list of activities, as we encourage pupils to lead their learning and it is highly likely that we will deviate from the plan as we follow their interests!

Photographs will be added throughout the year and we hope that you will see some of the exciting things we do and how much we enjoy being at school.

Guided Reading sessions take place every morning between 9:00 – 9:30.  We welcome volunteers to listen to reading groups.  Children in Owls are encouraged to select reading materials of their choice from a range of books which includes non-fiction and poetry.

Homework tasks are set each week,.and will usually be issued on a Friday., which has to be handed in the following Thursday.

Spellings are taught on Fridays, with further practise sessions in the week and tested the following Friday.
