Teacher - Mrs Lindley

ETA's - Mrs Wordsworth & Mrs Rathmell

Welcome back to the summer term. We shall start this term with a science focus on plants and growing as we plant our beans. I wonder whose will grow the most.  It generally gets very competitive in class as we all keep measuring and comparing them.

Reading in Foxes Class

Thank you for your support with listening to your children read at home. Thank you also to those of you who have been coming in to listen to children read in school.  Whole school reading time is from 9.00am to 9.30am daily and we always welcome volunteers to listen to the children read. If you can spare 30 minutes in a morning, and you would like to do this, please let me know. It doesn’t have to be on a regular basis and it really helps the children to have regular daily practise. Let me know if you would like to join us.

Please make sure your children bring their book bags, reading books and diaries to school every day. There are also extra reading books available in the shared area and the children may borrow book browser books too (just one at a time please).

Home Learning

Homework, Sounds and Spelling Books will continue to be sent home on Wednesdays. Please return them to the yellow box by Monday so that I can update them.  You will find some topic ideas in Homework book this week.

General information

PE is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please make sure the children have indoor and outdoor PE kit including suitable pumps or trainers in school (and that this is named). If your child has pierced ears, they need to be able to remove their own earrings for PE or bring in tape to cover them. Mrs Pogson will continue to teach Music and PE on Tuesdays this term.

Please check that all your child’s possessions are named so any found items can be reunited with their owners. We are still looking for one or two missing items from before Christmas. Please can you check at home in case you have any items that have been accidently swapped?

  • coloured cellophane sweet wrappers especially in red, orange and yellow
  • empty and clean squeezy bottles
  • cardboard boxes for modelling (about cereal box sized)

During our last topic the crew of ‘The Fantastic Fox’ really enjoyed dressing up on 'Talk Like A Pirate Day ' (take a look at the photos in Foxes gallery.)

Please keep checking back to see what we get up to!

Take a look at us trying out our new exciting smartboard.
