Behind Woodpeckers' class door...

World Book Day

We had lots of fun celebrating our favourite books. The children looked amazing in their costumes!

Once again we opened our door to the parents and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!

A big thank you to all the parents for coming to the Woodpeckers Open Door.  We appreciated all the help you gave with the making of our volcanoes. Thank you once again.

Teacher: Mr Worrall

ETA: Mrs Fisher

This term we have some exciting things ahead. Our topic this term is all about the 'Awful Egyptians' We will enjoy making as many cross curricular links as possible to our lessons.

For more information of what your child/children will be learning throughout this topic, please look at the topic letter.

In order to support children with their homework we are launching a new homework club which will run Monday afternoons at 12.00 -12.30.  We will have available laptops and iPads as well as the usual resources to enable the children to complete their homework.

The club will be run by  Mr Worral and Mrs Fisher.

Homework is given on Friday and will be marked on the following Thursday.

By the end of year 4, the new curriculum states that the children are required to be able to spell a list of year 3 words and a list of year 4 words. Your child will be taught these words in class.

Whole school reading time is from 9.00am to 9.30am daily and we always welcome volunteers to listen to the children read. It doesn’t have to be on a regular basis and it really helps the children to have regular daily practise. Please let me know if you would like to join us.

Please help your child with his/her learning. A website is listed below to practise recall of multiplication table facts:

Times Table Tester

Lessons are every Wednesday and Friday and your child will need both indoor and outdoor kit.

Thank you

Mr Worrall
