F.O.T.S Christmas Evening
Message from the Headteacher
A very warm welcome to Skelmanthorpe First and Nursery school website from all the children, staff and governors.
If you are a parent or pupil in school, we hope our website gives you a flavour of our school and give you the opportunity to see just some of the exciting learning, activities and events that happen here.
At Skelmanthorpe First and Nursery school, we aim to educate and nurture every child, ensuring they acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be successful in the future. A great team of dedicated and hard-working teachers, teaching assistants and support staff strive to ensure that your children have the best educational experience that they can possibly have.
We strongly believe that it is only by working in partnership with parents that we can provide the combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise that will ensure that all our pupils fulfil their potential. We are lucky enough to have good support from many parents in school and our parent group, FOTS, work closely with school and many events are organised that draw the whole school family together as often as possible
We are committed to ensuring the best possible care and education for our children and we are continually looking for ways to improve and develop what we do, in order to make our school the best it can possibly be.
I hope that you find the website content both informative and enjoyable. We know that choosing the right school for your child is a really important decision. The best way to find out more about our school is to come and visit us. The children and staff are always pleased to show visitors our school at work.
To arrange a visit please telephone Mrs Haigh in the school office on 01484 863306 or email her at email@example.com. She will be delighted to make the arrangements.
The Captain's Table
Each week the lunchtime supervisors choose one child from each class who have been making the right choices and showing good manners. These children are then invited to sit at the 'Captain's Table' and come to school in whatever they would like to wear.
Congratulations to the children chosen this week
Why House Teams?
We feel the children benefit from being members of mixed age school teams. It helps develop opportunities for year groups to work together, encourages children to support each other and it gives the children a strong sense of responsibility and belonging.
